Description:
An interiorscape technician’s primary job duty is to provide care for indoor plants in a variety of business and residential establishments. Technicians drive to each client location on a preset route. At each stop they care for the plants: including watering, fertilizing, dusting, inspecting, pruning, and rotating the plants. It is a demanding job, but has great personal rewards.
In addition to the satisfaction of caring for hundreds of plants, technicians get to meet and interact with a variety of people in a variety of settings, and enjoy an independent daily routine. Technicians learn about a huge array of interior plants, including watering techniques, pruning techniques, pest control, and disease identification.
Work week:
Technicians work on a set schedule which can range between 15 to 35 hours per week, depending on their needs and the company’s needs. Once a schedule is set, it does not vary from week to week. Our work hours are all between Monday and Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. We have no night or weekend hours.
We provide:
We provide our technicians with paid on-the-job training, and give them the basic equipment necessary to perform their job, such as watering cans, fertilizers, pruners, etc.
What technicians provide:
Plant care experience is helpful, but training is provided. A love of plants is necessary. We look for enthusiastic, outgoing people to hire as technicians. All technicians are required to have access to reliable transportation. Technicians generally drive their own vehicle between locations, for which they are reimbursed per mile. Technicians must also have a valid drivers’ license.
